Pramoud Vinayak Rao is the promoter managing director of India’s largest Electronic Security Company “Zicom Electronic Security Systems Ltd”. Pramoud has done his B.Sc in Science

In 1988, with a childhood friend, he ventured into business life with a capital of Rs 5000 to start an office automation company called Jayanti Business Machines Ltd, engaged in marketing and selling of niche Office Automation products like Fax Machines, Copiers, Tea and Coffee Vending Machines. In 1994, within a short span of 6 years, Jayanti Business notched up revenues exceeding Rs 48 cr. Just before the company shares were to get listed on BSE, Pramoud quit to kick start a new venture into the greenfield sunrise industry of Electronic Security.

In 1994, he started Zicom Electronic Security Systems to pioneer the category of Electronic Security in India. Zicom is currently the market leader in the business of electronic security and has been credited with many innovations and pioneering efforts – India ‘s first listed Electronic Security Company, Setting up of India’s first Central Monitoring Station and Video Monitoring Station, etc.

Pramoud, oversees strategic planning, local and International partnerships, acquisitions, marketing, sales, technical and branding of Zicom. Under his leadership Zicom has forged its success story and with the acquisition of Unisafe in Dubai, Zicom is looking at spreading its wings into the overseas markets and together ruthlessly pursuing its growth in the Indian markets.

He is currently the Chapter President of FSAI Mumbai Chapter.
