Zicom opens India’s first Electronic Security training Centre

There is a flip side to every growth story and there is one such to the dazzling performance of India’s organized electronic security industry. Electronic security segment is poised for a very strong structural growth in the short, medium and long term. This phenomenon is expected to create a huge shortage of quality manpower in the security business. Industry experts feel manpower cost is going to be causing huge cost pressure and effect the bottom line of most of the security companies. Mr. Rathin Banerjee - CEO SSG Group said, “With the upsurge in the Indian Economy, fuelled by the growth in real estates, infrastructure and increased FDI Investments, electronic security industry is also poised for phenomenal growth. This industry being technology and knowledge based badly needs trained and quality manpower with strong learning ability to cope up with the demand proliferation.”

Zicom anticipating cost pressure compelled with serious shortage of quality manpower decided to start up India’s first electronic training centre at Mumbai. Mr. Ajit Kulkarni a renowned electrical consultant inaugurated this Enhancement Centre on 18th March 2007. This state-of-the-art captive training centre has accommodation facility for around 20 people along with two classrooms and hands on practical equipments training. To add to leisure, there are recreation facilities like swimming pool, badminton court, ampi theatre etc.

“The business of Electronic security now getting into the volume and growth game in order to gain market share and keep opex cost down, it is imperative that quality manpower needs to be churned out to keep cost pressures down. With everyone venturing into the electronic security business, trained / skilled manpower is a major issue. Poaching is happening big time and retaining employees is proving to be a tough task,” says Head HR.

Given the future outlook of the business of electronic security, Zicom’s strategy to start its own training centre is a welcome move. At long last, we finally have an International quality training centre, where the who who’s of the Electronic Security Industry is going to be part of the faculty aimed at creating quality manpower for the future growth and needs of the electronic security industry.
